About the Civil Rights Section
The Civil Rights Section consists of attorneys who represent individuals in claims against federal, state, or local government. These claims may include federal constitutional actions under 42 USC §1983, state constitutional actions, and state tort actions for intentional or negligent conduct. Many of the attorneys who belong to the Civil Rights Section have expertise in litigating claims against governmental entities and can assist other attorneys with the numerous legal and evidentiary pitfalls. Every attorney who litigates, or has litigated, claims against the government should consider membership in the Civil Rights Section.
